am RZ model kit pro painter. Restoration of vintage distressed kits is a
challenge because first you have to have all the right vintage parts,
which means buying 3 kits to create one, sometimes more. also this means
having a stockpile of vintage parts which is expensive. But the end
result is worth it, and I am overjoyed to see an old kit come back to
life to exist on someone's shelf. The only way to have a perfect build
is to purchase an unbulit unpainted vintage kit which is rare, and
expensive. So I try to purchase the best parts, no globbed over paint
disasters, or horrendous builds. I fill seams, sand, and prime. Then use
my long history in art to bring the best pro painted model kit to the
public. A slight mist of fixative to protect the paint job, and a few
days to cure. The best protection in shipping, and to your home. Enjoy.
Aurora King Kong Model Facts - The instructions on the 1964 Aurora King Kong Model give relatively good details as to where to place the various trees, and literally no two model builders have done it the same way twice. Interestingly, included in the kit is an extra large tree, but no-where in the instructions does it show where to place it (although their is an ominous "groove" in the far left base). This loose interpretation has guaranteed through history, that no two King Kong model kits will ever be alike.
