A very attractive 1856 proof flying eagle cent graded PR 20 by PCGS. It carries very nice details for the grade and is overall very appealing. It has been notated to be the S-9 variety by PCGS. This proof issue mint date has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder. A tough key date coin to find in an 'affordable' grade level such as this one.
This proof issue date holds a tiny mintage of only 1,500. Of this mintage, it is one of only nine graded Proof 20 by PCGS.

1857 Flying Eagle Cent PCGS MS-64
Sharply struck and devoid of significant marks and spots. The obverse is a lustrous reddish-brown while the reverse is a lovely olive-brown with a tiny trace of lavender-red. The 1857 date is clearly doubled from a striking shift.
